		<description><![CDATA[The Sam Maritza Trust is a new fund set up by the Maritza family in memory of their daughter Samantha Maritza who passed away on the 9th June 2010. The trust was set up to fund young aspiring performers gain access to professional guidance and act as a springboard into the performing arts industry. The fund will be used to help young aspiring performers in their development, as this was an integral part of Samantha’s short life. At 16 Samantha was an active member and later a mentor of a project which enabled youngsters to work with other similar minded artists, forming lasting relationships and gaining confidence in their skills. 500 Mile Sponsored Walk – Amy Smith &#8216;I will be walking 500 miles over 6 weeks and 2 days from the south of France to Santiago in the west of Spain. Staffordshire County Council has a pot of community arts funding available to support local initiatives. Last year 52 organisations received money, with successful projects ranging from jubilee celebrations, festivals and carnivals to theatre workshops for those with learning difficulties, intergenerational arts projects, dance workshops for care home residents and singing for groups with dementia and their carers. The Community Arts Fund is available to any arts organisation or community group planning an arts project or event in Staffordshire which involves and benefits members of the community. 		<description><![CDATA[This month the Sajja Arts are running a competition to win the chance to record a live lounge music video on the grounds of the magnificent Ingestre Hall in Staffordshire. Studio 2 Recordings presents Studio 2 Live&#8230; Studio 2 Recordings are hosting a competition open to all bands, musicians and singers around the Midlands area. Entrants will be provided with 5 songs that they will have to chose from to cover acoustically. These songs are: Matrix &#38; Future-bound &#8211; Magnetic Eyes Justin Timberlake – Mirrors Rihanna – Diamonds David Guetta &#8211; Titanium Bruno Mars- Locked out of heaven The cover must be an acoustic version and there will be no drum kits or electronic instruments allowed. It’s simple, to audition you just need to send us in a link to a online rough recording or video which could just be taken from your phone by the deadline of Sunday the 31st of March 2013. (Please don’t email us huge files). We will invite a total of four of our favourite audition acts for a recording slot at our recording studio based at Ingestre, where you will be recorded live while you perform your cover, as well as being filmed to create a video to be used online. The video will be put online and bonus points will be awarded to those with the most Youtube likes and views. We will also judge the cover for creativity and originality as well as the overall musical performance.
